Description: The initiatives for values orientation and advocacy of a socially responsible Philippine advertising and marketing communications industry emerged in the mid - 80’s, most particularly in the early post - Martial Law years. There was a strong need for values re-orientation for the national reconciliation of people and country as imperatives of nation - building for unity, peace and progress. Corporate advertisers, with their respective advertising agencies as partners, developed values oriented campaigns as part of their corporate social responsibility. And thus, the birth of creative media campaigns such as PLDT’s “ Let Freedom Ring” and “the Good News”, and the Development Bank of the Philippines' “Delicadeza” series, geared to influence the mindsets of people and nation for positive social changes.
